Magic: The Disney?

Ravensburger and Disney have worked together to create a new card game called Lorcana, and yes, it is like Magic: The Gathering. As someone who has been playing Lorcana Since day one I am definitely obsessed with it at the moment. Right now they are on set 3 titled Into The Inklands and it is rumored that Ravensburger is already working on set 8. each card has beautiful designs and on the bottom left of each card it says who designed the card.

Personally I have not played Magic however, I do have friends that have and they have said that this is a slightly easier version to play and have even compared some of the Lorcana cards to Magic cards to help them learn the game. There are 6 different colors that you can play: Amber, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Steel. Each deck can contain up to two of these colors and at least 60 cards so the possibilities are endless. I made a pirate deck for fun and had a blast.

To play the game you draw 7 cards and start by putting a card into your “inkwell” by simply placing upside down on your playmat. You continue back and forth until you have enough ink to play a card. The cost of the card is on the top left corner, if there’s a border it can be inked and if there’s not it can’t. Some characters have abilities when they’re played or when they quest. When a character quests, you gain that characters lore, the little diamond shapes on the bottom right side of the card, 20 lore and you win. If you want to take out a character you can challenge them. Each character has will power and attack power shown on the right side of the card. Of course this is Disney so you didn’t “kill” the character, you “banished” them.

Now for real though, what I want to know is why they haven’t come out with Big Hero 6 cards. Do they think that it would be to easy? They were able to create cards for 101 Dalmatians, why not Hiro and Baymax? Those cards would honestly be amazing. I recommend playing Lorcana for yourself as it is a lot of fun. I have gone to tournaments, played with my family, and even made common decks for a 3 and 6 year old to learn and play. Try it out even if you’re just a collector, opening each pack and waiting for the last three to see if you pulled a legendary or an enchanted is a lot of fun.
